X Bolgar International Archaeological School in Kyrgyzstan

On June 26, 2023 the Institute of Archaeology named after A.Kh. Khalikov of the Tatarstan Academy of Sciences jointly with the Kazan Federal University, International Institute for Central Asian Studies, Kyrgyz-Uzbek International University named after B. Sydykov, National Historical and Archaeological Museum Complex “Sulaiman-Too” and Institute of History, Archaeology and Ethnology named after B. Zhamgerchinov of the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic opened the first stage of the X Bolgar International Archaeological School, organized at the Kyrgyz-Uzbek International University named after B. Sydykov (Osh, Republic of Kyrgyzstan).
At the opening ceremony took place not only welcoming speeches of representatives of administration, scientific and educational organizations of Osh, but also an acquaintance with the world historical and cultural heritage of the Republic of Tatarstan due to the reports of the academician of the Tatarstan Academy of Sciences, Doctor of Historical Sciences A. Sitdikov and professor, Doctor of Historical Sciences R. Valeev.
More than 50 undergraduate, graduate, postgraduate students and young specialists from Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and Russia participated in the first stage of the School. The teachers are the leading specialists from the scientific centers of Bulgaria (Sofia), Kyrgyz Republic (Bishkek, Osh) and Russia (Moscow, St. Petersburg, Krasnodar, Yekaterinburg, Kazan).
The first stage of the School is organized in such scientific directions as: “Archaeozoology”, “Bioarchaeology”, “Rescue archaeological research: modern methods of fixation of archaeological structures and objects”, “Basic principles of methodology of experimental and traceological analysis of ancient tools functions”. The sections will be held in the lecture-halls of the Kyrgyz-Uzbek International University named after B. Sydykov and the National Historical and Archaeological Museum Complex “Sulaiman-Too”.
The International youth scientific conference “Interdisciplinary studies in archaeology: achievements and challenges” is the final event of the first stage of School, that will be held at the Kyrgyz-Uzbek International University named after B. Sydykov on July 8, 2023.
The second stage of School will take place at the Bolgar State Historical and Architectural Museum-Reserve from August 14 to August 27.
