Tatarstan Academy of Sciences

September 21-22, 2017, the Center for Islamic Studies of the Tatarstan Academy of Sciences conducts the International Scientific and Practical Conference "Russia and the Islamic World: Areas for Cooperation and Searching for an Answer to the Challenges of Modernity."

Within the framework of the event, it is planned to discuss issues of general and particular in the cultural, religious and socio-political space of the Islamic world, the specifics of the development of the Muslim community in central and peripheral regions. Particular attention will be paid to the problem of transforming radical ideas in the context of globalization, the theory and practice of traditional forms of Islam in historical retrospect, and the interaction of Islam with other faiths (Christianity, Judaism, etc.).
