The International Zavoisky Award 2018 ceremony.

September 24, 2018 in the assembly hall of the Tatarstan Academy of Sciences the ceremony of awarding the International Prize named after E.K. Zavoisky was held with the Government of the Republic of Tatarstan support.

Professor of the University of California (USA) David Britt was awarded the International Prize named after E.K. Zavoisky for his outstanding contribution to the development of the electron paramagnetic resonance method is the innovative application of the EPR methodology for the study of metalenzymes.

At the ceremony of awarding was attended by Russian and foreign scientists, including laureates of the award of different years, as well as representatives of the Government of the Republic of Tatarstan.

The Zavoisky Prize is awarded annually for an outstanding contribution to the application or development of the electron paramagnetic resonance method in any field of science. The laureate, who is elected by an international committee, is also awarded a diploma and a medal. Traditionally, after the solemn ceremony, the owner of the prize gives a lecture before the audience. David Britt continued the tradition, his lecture was called "Solar fuel: the approach of nature."

The ceremony of awarding was held within the framework of the International Conference Modern Development of Magnetic Resonance, which opened in Kazan on September 24.

David Britt is a professor at the University of California, Davis, USA.
Professor David Britt was awarded the International EPR Society Award for Young Scientists in 1995, the Gold Medal of the International EPR Society in 2014 and the Brooker Award in 2016. He is a member of the editorial board of the international journal "Researches of photosynthesis".
He made many plenary and invited papers at various international conferences.
